Kallie and team launched HEAR OUR ROAR in the summer of 2021 as part of her #ArtRebuilds campaign. The project came in response to the extreme rise in suicide rates in the U.S. that year and sought to reinstate individual value despite the pervasive loss of personal identity, security and purpose post-Covid. Hear Our Roar began as an participatory installation at the Montrose Market, where over 60 people shared "one thing they loved about themselves." These words were then worked into a bespoke, hand-painted vintage collection. The collection was worn in guerilla-style spoken word performances across Houston, promoting the message of the campaign - unity by means of diversity, and the value of every human life - and was released at the Hear Our Roar Pop-Up outside of Blessings Shop in Montrose alongside other local musicians and artists carrying the same heart.
