OUR SONG FOR BREONNA (WE WON'T CLOSE OUR EYES)

What started as a simple piano "prayer" for the family of Breonna Taylor became overtime a collective demonstration of compassion and advocacy. For several months, Kallie wrote "Our Song For Breonna" live on Instagram, allowing musicians and writers from across the world to share feedback in real time on lyrics, melodies, instrumentation. The song took on many forms during that collaborative process - shifting from a major to minor key, requiring a choir to accompany the soloists, etc. In the end, this project was truly the outpouring of many voices groaning together in love and empathy for the ones left grieving. "Because God doesn't close His eyes to them, we won't either."
